Okemos held on 58-55 to defeat host Rockford in the I–96 Holiday Classic Saturday.

George Conner led the visiting Chieftans (2-2) with 21 points, including all eight of his free throw attempts and 10 rebounds. Atticus Bohr was 0 for 8 on attempts from beyond the arc entering the game, but scored 17 points with five 3-pointers.

Bohr made all five of his 3-pointers in the first half, and three in sequence to end the first quarter.

"Rockford got off to a very quick start tonight," Okemos coach Jeff Wonch said. "Some of it was us making mistakes and turning over the ball, but most of it was them being on. We knew Atticus could shoot, but we were fortunate to have him go off tonight to keep us in the game."

Jason Majerle led Rockford with 15 points, including 6 of 6 from the line and three 3-pointers, while Jacob VanCuren added 10 points.

Rockford (2-2) hosts Forest Hills Central at 7:30 p.m. Dec. 30, while Okemos will compete again Dec. 27 at Lansing Community College against Troy Athens at the Holiday Hoops Classic.
