Casey Watters had 16 points for Rockford (6-8, 4-4 OK Red), which beat host Grand Haven 53-45 on Friday.

Nathan Woznick added 10 points, and Chris Sunday had nine for Rockford, which held an 8-3 lead after the first quarter.

"I just thought we played harder after the first quarter and our offense was more aggressive," Grand Haven coach Steve Hewitt said. "Rockford knocked down shots early on and put us back on our heels."

Noah Lein led Grand Haven (7-9, 2-5) with 19 points, four steals three assists, and Connor Grimes added eight points.

Rockford went into the half with a 22-13 lead, but Grand Haven outscored Rockford 17-15 in the third quarter.

"I felt like our second half -- we played much better," Hewitt said. "We just weren't ready to play out of the gate in the first half. Our bench really kicked in later on to help us out."
