Jordan VanDort had 21 points and 17 rebounds and Luke Dreyer added 20 of his own, but the two seniors’ efforts were not enough as the Zeeland West boys basketball team fell to 2-2 on the year with a double-overtime loss to Rockford on Saturday, 82-76.

The Dux were down by six points in the last 50 seconds, but clawed back to send the game to overtime. They took a three-point lead in the first overtime, but couldn’t extend the lead and Rockford came back to tie it again.

"We couldn’t make enough plays," Zeeland West coach Kevin Towne said. "It was a battle. It was fun, but it was tough to lose that. It’s better to lose that game than lose by 40." Sam Hoesch pitched in 14 points and also had seven assists. Zeeland West had three players foul out. With the loss, the Dux dropped both of its games at the Cornerstone University Holiday tournament.
