It was a battle from start to finish on Friday night at Muskegon
Heights High School.
The host Tigers battled for 32 minutes with the Rockford Rams before
prevailing 68-66.
"You play Rockford in your first game and it'll be a battle," said
Muskegon Heights coach Keith Guy. "I thought our guys kept fighting
and it came down to the final seconds. Fortunately, we were able
to come out with the win."
Ricarri Stimage hit two key baskets in the final moments and Deontae
Hudson made a free throw down the stretch.
Stimage led the Tigers with 19 points. Sean Davis and Julian Plummer
had 10 each.
Gabe Vanderjagt led the Rams with 24 points.
"It was just a battle of wills tonight," said Guy, whose
schedule doesn't get any easier next with with games against East
Kentwood and Saginaw Arthur Hill. "Both teams played hard."
